Design & Build are currently working on behalf of a council located within the northern suburbs of Melbourne who are currently seeking a Building Inspector on a permanent basis. 

 

Repo rting into the Municipal Building Surveyor you will be expected to provide assistance towards ensuring compliance of building works within the municipality as well as contributing towards an efficient and effective building service for a range of stakeholders within the city.
 
Duties will include but not limited to:

• Inspecting buildings within the municipality to ensure compliance with the relevant Building Act, Codes and associated Regulations
• Prepare a range of reports, letters and Notices/Orders
• Undertake councils maintenance of Essential Safety Measures and Swimming Pool Safety programs
• Investigate illegal building work and ensure relevant action is taken
• Provide building advice and guidance during inspections
• Manage complaints, ensuring building compliance is achieved
• Manage personal administration, ensuring all relevant council systems are recorded in the manner required

Requirements include:  

• Ideally registered or working towards registration as a Building Inspector - Limited or Unlimited with the Building Practitioners Board. 
• Victorian drivers license
